“The Gift” Photography Project By Cynthia Perez

The photographer for The Gift Project is Cynthia Perez.  Cynthia is a professional photographer who divides her time between New York and Los Angeles. A highly acclaimed commercial photographer, Cynthia has done photo shoots for Disney, Pampers, Crayola, McDonalds and many more.  Feeling the need to be more connected with her subjects, Cynthia undertook the task of photographing women with cancer for The Foundation for Living Beauty’s The Gift project.  Each photograph shared the intimacy of each woman’s cancer journey through he displaying of her cancer scars..

The Gift Photography Project is a powerful, intimate photographic series that depicts the courage of our Living Beauties along their cancer journeys.  Through the generosity and talent of photographer Cynthia Perez, we see fragile and authentic moments captured.  The exhibit allows our Living Beauties to elegantly share their unique gift of inner strength with the world.  Through this profound exhibit we not only see the experience of cancer but like the Phoenix rising from the ashes we can witness the gift of celebrating and discovering one’s inner self.  Living Beauty Debbie Hannah said, “Cynthia Perez’s work helps create a reflection of who we are as Living Beauties and how we transform adversity.  We see the possibility and power of creating ourselves anew in every moment.”
